If skiing isn’t your style but you get a good laugh at those who try and fail, the Telluride Comedy Festival is right up your alley. This annual event features an all-star lineup and four full nights of fun. The Sheridan Arts Foundation and Jeb Berrier present the 24th annual Telluride Comedy Festival at the historic Sheridan Opera House over President’s Day weekend. Nothing is off limits at the Comedy Festival, with comedy in the form of stand-up, improv, sketches, and much more. Telluride Gay Ski Week
Date: February 24 – March 2, 2024

Telluride Gay Ski Week was originally founded in 2002. Since then, it has been a week to look forward to for participants and locals alike.
SBG Productions, the brains behind Telluride Brews & Blues and the Telluride Jazz Festival took over the festival in 2022 to up the fun! It will feature an opening-day party, daily après ski, pool parties, late-night lounge happenings, with events extending well into the morning hours, including the signature White Party and much more. Historically, Telluride Gay Ski Week has coincided with Telluride Aids Benefit fashion show gala, an event run by TAB who is “dedicated to fighting HIV/AIDS by raising awareness and generating financial support for prevention programs and client care.” Telluride Gay Ski Week continues to grow and expand, and we encourage you to come check it out for yourself if you haven’t already!

MountainFilm

So much more than just another film fest, MountainFilm brings ~85 of the top independent films from around the world together for one spectacular artistic event. The entire weekend is filled with film screenings and critiques, guest presentations from filmmakers, symposiums on film creation and theory, musical performances, and networking events and parties to bring the film community together in celebration. What started as a niche mountain film festival has evolved into the nation’s leading independent documentary film festival, and the event is an absolute must for cinephiles. Telluride Balloon Festival
Date: May 31 – June 2, 2024
We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention what is inarguably the most beautiful event of the year—the annual Telluride Balloon Festival. This stunning event takes place at the beginning of summer when the mountain is covered in lush greenery and the lakes are glistening in the bright sun. Each year, dozens of handcrafted hot air balloons launch from Town Park on the east end of Telluride and glide down the valley, a truly spectacular sight. Saturday evening is “Glow” night, the highlight of the event, where owners fire up their balloons along Main Street and the entire downtown Telluride area is glowing with color. Telluride Bluegrass Festival

The Telluride Bluegrass Festival always falls on the week of the Summer Solstice, allowing ample time to absorb the sights and sounds of our charming mountain town. Every Labor Day weekend, film enthusiasts flood Telluride for four days of cinema-related events including screenings, panels and special events. A couple of things differentiate the Telluride Film Festival from the rest of the festival circuit including its low key vibe and a program which isn’t revealed until festival-goers arrive in town.
