Make a visit to the Bridal Veil Falls hike a part of your outdoor adventures for an unforgettable experience.
How to Get There
The majestic and breathtaking falls are the highest free-falling falls in Colorado at 365 feet. Head east through town on Colorado Avenue to the east side of the box canyon to reach the trail that continues past Pandora Mill. The falls are just a short trek further.
The Trails
The most popular trail is a 4.8-mile out-and-back trail that leads to the bottom of the falls. This way is very busy and requires high clearance 4-wheel drive, but no motor vehicles are permitted beyond the top of the falls. Access the trailhead to Bridal Veil Basin at the gate just before the power plant. A newer, single-track Bridal Veil hike trail that leads to the top of the falls is shorter – only 1.2 miles one way. It’s a bit more difficult with rough, uneven ground and a hazardous water crossing that can be dangerous in spring and early summer after the snow melts. Be advised the trails may be closed due to snow.
Activities
The longer trail to the bottom of the falls is very busy with hikers, bikers, and 4×4 vehicles. The trail leading to the top is for skilled hikers and bikers and not meant for families or beginners. In the winter, ice climbers often test their skills there as well.
